Step 1 – Start drawing the leg

First draw the left side of the leg. Start from the upper thigh and finish with the big toe.  

2 – Add the foot

Next to the big toe draw the 4 smaller toes. I just draw some 4 partial half-circles one next to the other, which do the job quite fine. Now add the back of the foot and ankle. As shown in the image below, I usually draw it bottom up as it’s easier for me to get good proportions this way. I have to admit that the foot I drew here doesn’t have the best proportions, but remember it’s just doodling, and it’s a cartoon after all. I can do whatever I want as long as the general looks reminds you of a human related body part. It’s good enough, don’t be hard of yourselves (or me…).

3 – Draw the rest of the leg

As in drawing the foot, it’s easier for me to draw the back of the leg going bottom up to maintain with good proportions. Of course you can change it and draw from up to bottom – whatever works best for you.

4 – Finnaly, the easy high heel stilletto shoe

So we’ve come to the great moment of adding the high heel shoe. And as promissed, it’s going to be quick and easy to draw this stilletto. First – draw the heel. It’s simply a pointy triangle starting from the ankle and ending in the floor level, right next to the toes or just a bit below it, so that it will be in the same line with the bottom of the shoe. Next, add the bottom of the shoe – just some sort of  rectangle below the toes. Keep in mind that the toes are standing on top of it, so the upper part of the rectangle shouldn’t be drawn. To complete the picture just add the strings that hold the foot inside the shoe – one right on top of the toes, and one in the middle of the foot.

5 – The right leg

he best part is that this specific type of shoe can be drawn in almost the same way for both legs – right and left. To draw the right leg, follow the step above, with a few modifications in the toes department:

After drawing the left side of the left, you end it with the smallest two, instead of the big toe. Than, draw the big two in a small distance to the right of it, and add the right side of the foot and ankle. After drawing all of the above, its easy to simply add the rest of the toes from right to left in the space that you have left between the ‘borderline’ toes. To finish it up, add the heel and the rest of the shoe part in the exact same way you added them to the left leg.

6 – That’s it. Really.

Amazingly simple, eh? Yeah, perhaps not the prettiest shoes ever, but they still count as stillettoes.

This time, I chose to draw the tutorial manually, with the good old pen and paper method. I find it not only easier, but also a method that eventually provide better results (I don’t know about you, but that’s true for me).

So – How do you draw stilletto shoes?

Drawing shoes, in general, isn’t easy for me. You have to perfectly understand the proportions of the foot parts, and imagen how they fit inside the shoe.

To make things easier, we’ll use the ‘step by step’ method, basing our drawing on simple shapes:

1. Create a circle for the heel, a flat circle for the toes, and connect them with 2 line, as showed in the image on the left.

2. Then, add the high hill itself – somewhat of a narrow rectangle, starting at the right side of the heel base. The bottom part of it should be aligned with the ‘flat toes circle’ bottom side.

3. Now you have the basic shape of the shoe. Start creating the outlines of the shoe – the bottom part of the shoe usually covers the toes only, the the upper part of the shoe covers 3/4 of the heel. Obviously, it’s your shoe, and you can create your own shoe design. :)

4. Remove unnecessary lines from your drawing – the circles you used in the first steps.

And this is your stiletto shoe:

How to draw a very simple shoe

When drawing shoes I always use the ‘circles’ method – drawing a basic sketch of the foot shape, and covering it with the shoe. I use this method even if I’m drawing with a free hand, without the use of the circles for the rest of the body, but when it comes to the shoes – I find that the circles are important for me

1. Draw a simple sketch of the heel and the end of the foot. There’s no need to draw the toes or anything, just verify the shape size is in the right proportion, relative to the rest of your cartoon body.
2. Start covering the base with the shoe sides.
3. Add the sole. Don’t forget – almost in the middle, just a bit closer to the heel, there’s always a small bump, unless the shoe is really not orthopedic..
4. Add the top of the shoe,
5. and the lases.
6. Now remove the base circles and add colors. Your done. :)

How to draw a boot

The boot is similar to the simple shoe:

1. Create the base circles.
2. Add the sides of the boot. Remember – the boot top is usually higher than a simple shoe.
3. Add the sole,
4. And another top side of the boot’s end. Yep, it’s a bit tricky, but try a few times and you’ll see, it will be great at the end.
5. Add the lases – in this type of shoe they can be crossed from side to side, so just draw some x’s…
6. And let’s not forget that the lases are long and coming out of the shoe.
7. Just remove the circles and add colors, you’re done:

How to draw a stiletto shoe

Drawing a high heel shoe is a bit different than the regular flat shoe on it’s variations, but in my oppinion – it’s much more fun!

1. In this particular example I used a different kind of basic circle, it’s actually a triangle. The heel is raised a bit, so it can become a high heeled shoe…
2. Add the sides of the shoe.
3. The bottom has a heel – don’t forget it.
4. In a high heel shoe the end of the shoe is narrow – only the end of the toes are in there.
5. There’s a wide open top.
6. Add some color, and you’re done.
